Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is a regenerative medical treatment that uses the patient’s own platelets to promote healing and enhance tissue regeneration.

PRP comprises of withdrawing the patient’s own blood, separating the components (Platelet-Rich Plasma, Platelet-Poor Plasma, Red and White Blood Cells) and injecting the PRP into specific sites (including the face, scalp or joints) to stimulate cell growth and repair.

Hair Restoration with PRP

PRP stimulates growth factors to promote new hair growth and improve the thickness and quality of existing hair, as well as improve blood flow to the scalp. PRP can help in patients with androgenetic alopecia (male or female pattern baldness).

Facial Rejevenation with PRP

PRP facial rejuvenation (often termed ‘The Vampire facial’) is used to deminishing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and other signs of aging. The growth factors stimulated by PRP initiate a healing response by attracting stem cells, promoting cell growth, tissue remodeling and new collagen and elastin, which are essential for maintaining youthful skin. The process leads to a slowing down of the aging process, improvement of skin texture and tone, improving scars, reduce the appearance of dark circles and sun damage, and enhance the overall health and vitality of the skin.

Minimal Invasiveness and Quick Recovery Time

One of the major benefits of PRP therapy is that it is a minimally invasive procedure with little to no downtime. Patients can typically resume their normal activities immediately after the treatment. PRP therapy is also safe and well-tolerated, as it uses the patient’s own blood, reducing the risk of allergic reactions or other complications.

Furthermore, PRP may be used in sensitive areas, such as fine skin around the eyes, and it may be combined with other treatments to stimulate the biological effect, which are generally visible at 3 weeks sometimes earlier, with continuous gradual improvement over 6-12 months. Improvement is dependent on skin conditions, the extent of wrinkles and scarring, smoking and alcohol consumption. During the first few days after treatment skin redness and sensitivity may appear.

The whole procedure takes up to 1 hour. Generally 1‐3 treatments are advised, though more may be recommended, depending on different skin parameters, such as age, baseline condition as a result of smoking, sun damage, genetics and others. Maintenance is advised once-twice a year subsequently.
