Treatment of Lumps & Bumps around the Eye

These white/yellowish marks near the eyelids are a buildup of cholesterol and lipids. In medicine we call them Xanthelasma and they are benign.

They are more often a cosmetic concern rather than actual cause of symptoms and they can be removed surgically. Xanthelasma can develop as a result of high cholesterol/lipids in your blood, therefore, if you have developed lesions like this it is important to see a GP to investigate this and initiate treatment if necessary.

QHC multidisciplinary team provides GP and Ophthalmic Plastic services. We would be happy to assist you if you have any concerns regarding this condition.
